What is Bangkok Clutch
Southeast Asia’s Growing Bouldering Showdown
Bangkok Clutch is a professional bouldering competition presented by Balance Climbing and Balance Prime, built to bring climbers from across the region together to unite, compete, and celebrate the sport. In 2025 the event drew 300 registered competitors from nine countries — Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, China, the USA, Indonesia, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
2026 marks the event’s return with a lowered entry age to welcome more youth and younger climbers, an expanded 4-category format, and a stacked line-up of international route setters. Spectators are welcome free of charge on Finals Day (8 Nov) at Balance Climbing Rama 9 — Qualification Day (7 Nov) at Balance Prime is competitors and staff only.

How It Works
01
Qualification — 7 Nov, Balance Prime
All 4 categories climb 50 boulders. Score is your best 8 (Youth & Origins), best 10 (Intermediate), or best 12 (Open) boulders — highest total score, with bonus points for flash sends. Ties are broken by the next-highest scoring boulder. Only qualifiers are allowed in the climbing zone, except Youth's spectator's ticket.
02
Semi-Final — 8 Nov, Balance Climbing (Open only)
Top 20 Open qualifiers advance to an IFSC-format semi-final, judged and live-streamed, Zone & Top scoring.
03
Final — 8 Nov, Balance Climbing (Intermediate & Open)
Top 8 from Intermediate qualification and Top 8 from the Open semi-final compete in an IFSC-format final, judged and live-streamed, Zone & Top scoring.
